  1. My 6th grade grandson has a class in Middle School that is a modernized version of what used to be shop. Recently they designed (on the computer) and built a model of a bridge. They use saws and other power tools.

    He lives in South Windsor, Connecticut so I don’t think it’s true that this is not done in U.S. Middle Schools.
